ONC BOCES has tentative plans to offer training for C.N.A. certification starting in February or March. In the past this training has been offered during the day hours, 4-5 days per week. Training Costs is $1650.00 includes all training costs & C.N.A. testing fees.
Training funding may be available through the CDO Workforce based on eligibility requirements.
Additional Training Funding Available: Youth, 24 or under, who have a disability are welcome to apply for DEI training funding at CDO Workforce.
Requirements for C.N.A. Training, Exam, & Employment include: Be Compassionate & Caring / Lifting Requirements; Pass physical exam; Pass Background Check & Drug Screen, ability to work evening & night, weekends is preferred. Workers with Disabilities are encouraged to apply.

• Use Social Security work incentives to help maintain SSI and SSDI eligibility as you explore returning to work.
• Ease off cash benefits and into self-sufficiency.
• Work full-time and maintain low cost (or even no-cost) health insurance.

Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency (MVCAA) is looking for a Grant Writer in Utica, NY.
This position is a Full Time Executive level position with the responsibility of leading the growth and overall development of the agency. The Grant Writer will work closely with the Executive Team, appropriate board committees and community partners to identify new opportunities for the agency that align with the mission and prepare the applications for funding. This may also include assisting with renewal applications of existing programs. This position will also assist in implementation of any new programs.
Starting pay is $50,000 annually with full benefits and flexible hours.
• Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate and government sources.
• Perform research relevant to new opportunities
• Understand the organization's programs, goals and financial needs
• Keep careful records to track proposals
• Build relationships with partners.
• Promote the organization in the community.
• Develop corresponding budgets.
• Ensure compliance with all grant reporting as required by funders.
• Provide stewardship to current donors, including regular written updates (newsletters etc) to funders
• Assist with other fundraising projects as requested
The Grant Writer must meet the following minimum qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university; Graduate study in the general areas of communication, leadership development or non-profit management preferred with two years of experience in grant writing; or six years of qualified responsibilities related to inherent in this position.
• Ability to recognize and understand the causes of poverty and the conditional and environmental effects of poverty.
• Ability to research data applicable to project
• Enthusiastic and motivated.
• Previous experience with non-profit fundraising.
• Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
• Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Must have reliable transportation and a clean and valid NYS Driver’s License.

Effective October 9, 2018, New York State has given a mandate regarding investigating sexual harassment complaints specifically interviewing witnesses, collecting and reviewing documents, documenting findings, taking corrective actions and notifying all appropriate parties.
This two-day seminar addresses different types of investigations and will give employers and investigators an understanding of the tools needed to plan and conduct interviews, gather, organize and review different types of evidence, draw appropriate conclusions, document an investigation and make the right recommendations for actions.
