The Food Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting and enforcing the company's food safety and Quality Assurance Program. Workforce Development Board Announces Services for Businesses

The Workforce Development Board of Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Chenango, Delaware and Otsego Counties (WDB HMO/CDO) today announced services to help businesses search out and attract talent, fill open positions and upskill employees.

Free or low-cost services and funding are available to help offset the costs associated with hiring and training:
Free Booth in Virtual Job Fairs. The WDB is utilizing Premier Virtual, a U.S.-based, Veteran-owned job fair platform. Premier Virtual is an easy-to-use job fair simulation that provides real-time interaction between recruiters and candidates, including video chat. The platform includes a customizable exhibitor booth with buttons to share video content, web-links, job vacancies, company overviews, embedded live or pre-recorded Zoom links, and the ability to access post-job fair reports and more. (Next HMO Job Fair: August 11th! Businesses and Job Seekers: REGISTER HERE. )
Custom Virtual Job Fair. For one employer, utilizing Premier Virtual, includes the above, plus customized job fair promotion, including social media, HMO/CDO website(s), email outreach and press releases. ($350)

Free Job Listings that Reach Across New York State and Targeted to Local Social Media. Job listings will appear on the NYS Job Bank and will also be posted on local HMO/CDO social media, websites, and in HMO/CDO newsletters.
On-The-Job Training Grants for Eligible Employees. Funding for employers utilizing on-the-job (OJT) training receive reimbursement of a percentage of eligible employees’ wages for a training period. In-house OJT training ensures the employee is trained in accordance with company standards and procedures, begins working immediately with a team, and quickly becomes productive. Employer rights remain intact. If the trainees hired do not meet their performance standards, the employer retains the right to terminate them.
Assistance with Apprenticeship Programs. WDB apprenticeship programs provide on-the-job learning, job-related classroom or online instruction, and pre-apprenticeship training. Employers who utilize apprentices report higher productivity, higher retention rates and a substantial return on investment.

Position Title: Paintmaker I - 2nd Shift

2nd Shift works from 3:45pm-2:15am, Monday through Thursday

Responsibilities:
Individuals are required to operate and be efficient in at least two of the following: large versator, small versator, or all mills, and multiple pieces of equipment, including drum dumper, fork truck, manual jack, power jack, etc. This individual may be required to operate the bulk mixer. Executive Director Search
As the chief administrator of the organization, the Executive Director has primary responsibility for managing the program, implementing its mission, and complying with New York State Education Department regulations. The Director also serves as Case Manager, in this role guiding students to needed social services. The Director, who serves as a principal representative to constituents and the public, reports to the Board of Directors.
Major Duties

  1. Recruiting and overseeing the work of volunteer tutors in a welcoming climate that attracts, supports, motivates, and rewards them.
  2. Overseeing tutor training in accordance with state and Literacy New York guidelines.
  3. Recruiting students in our two-county area of service, processing intake paperwork, and matching them with appropriate tutors.
  4. Developing and maintaining partnerships with other educational and social service agencies and with businesses to identify, recruit, and assist students in furthering their studies.
  5. Developing and maintaining partnership with social service agencies, following State case management protocols for assisting students in need of such services.
  6. Assuring that accurate records of student attendance are kept, that testing takes place in a timely manner, and that required reporting to the state and other agencies is carried out.
  7. Monitoring program progress toward meeting annual goals required by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and by other funders, entering state data into NYSED databases.
  8. Assisting the Board’s Program, Public Relations and Fundraising Committees to carry out their initiatives, including grant writing.


Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field required with master’s degree preferred.
  2. Successful experience in an administrative or management position.
  3. Very strong communication skills (writing, speaking, presenting, dealing with the public), with experience in grant writing preferred.
  4. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  5. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ethical use of confidential information; integrity; and interest in learning new skills through research and training.
  6. NYS driver’s license and dependable transportation for work-related travel.

CDO Workforce is partnering with Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, Commerce Chenango, and Delaware County Chamber of Commerce to invite you to the Chenango, Delaware, Otsego Virtual Career Fair, being held on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021!  This event will focus on industries that are in high demand, including:  Healthcare, Hospitality, Tourism, Manufacturing and more!

We will be utilizing Premier Virtual, a U.S.-based, Veteran-owned job fair platform that provides an easy-to-use job fair simulation, enabling real-time interaction between recruiters and candidates, including video chat.

Provide technical expertise required to maintain the safe and efficient operation of the facility including knowledge in the following areas: HVAC Systems Fire/Sprinkler Systems Boiler Operations Plumbing Systems Electrical Systems General Construction Respond to emergency spills or calls. Report damages and support repairs. Perform maintenance including replacing broken switches, fixing door handles, minor leaks, painting, drywall repair. Replace light bulbs, etc. Must be able to work independently and on a team. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize based on the needs of tenants. Must be able to lift weight up to 80 pounds. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions as well as basic communication skills. Knowledge of maintenance supplies, equipment and materials needed to perform required tasks. Comfortable troubleshooting mechanical and equipment problems. Other duties as assigned including but not limited a variety of tenant work orders and fit outs. Top Skills in Priority Order: Prior technical experience with systems in the facility as listed in the job description. Ability to prioritize, work independently and respond to tenant needs. Basic verbal and written skills. Ability to respond with tact, professionally and courteously to tenants and clients. Ability to lift 80 pounds. Reference Check required.
